Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist, Needed for Expanding Biotech Company

An expanding biotech company is looking to hire a Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist that would be able to apply information technology for cancer research. This candidate will use computational tools in order to gather and analyze data related to biomarker and assay development.
The Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist will have responsibilities that include:
- Implementing data mining techniques and strategies that enable genomic discovery and genomic profiling analysis
- Leading the development of designing study protocols and final reports and communicating results to external stakeholders
- Serving as the lead for designing and analyzing validating studies for NGS based diagnostic assays
- Communicating with scientists and technologists as well as the regulatory affairs team on study design, planning, programming, and presentation of results
- Developing new data algorithms that are in line with research goals
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
- 3+ years in bioinformatics or computational biology within life sciences required
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or related field strongly preferred
- Experience in use of NCBI, UCSC genome Browser, and IGV
- Experience in oncology preferred
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Must have great communication skills and the ability to work in a small environment
