Senior Scientist - Analytical Chemistry
Location: Greater New York Area
Salary: 90,000-115,000 + Competitive Benefits Package
One of the largest and leading multinational pharmaceutical companies known for their commitment to cutting-edge technologies and constant innovation is looking to hire an individual who will serve as an individual contributor while also reporting directly to the Research & Development Manager of the New York office. This candidate will serve within an integral role as a subject matter expert on analytical methods. The ideal candidate will work well both with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment.
General and Technical
- A deep understanding of analytical methods as well as laboratory analytical techniques and practices is essential.
- A deep understanding of analytical chemistry tools, physical pharmacy and chemistry, thermodynamics, and chemical reaction kinetics is necessary.
- Candidate should possess experience with extractable and leachables.
- Clear ability to communicate, both written and oral, across seniority levels and disciplines.
- A thorough understanding of and experience with UV-Vis, LC, GC, and Spectroscopy techniques is crucial.
- Ability to effectively craft technical documents such as but not limited to protocols, technical memorandums, and reports.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on analytical methods pertaining to products under development or going through commercialization
- Design and conduct, under supervision, laboratory pre-formulation, formulation, and process development experiments in order to better develop products and formulation.
- Independently develop, assess, and validate test methods for APIs
- Develop and optimize, at laboratory scale, the manufacturing processes through the alteration of various parameters
- Act as the technical point of contact for the company's interactions with CROs and CDMOs
- Independently draft and review SOPs.
Minimal Experience and Skills
- Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Medicinal Chemistry.
- Command over both written and verbal English is essential. Publications are a great demonstration of such.
- Proficiency in computer software and tools such as but not limited to Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
