Senior Contracts Manager (PBM)
Company Summary: Collaborates with commercial and finance teams to develop contracting strategy. Manages the entire life cycle of commercial biopharmaceutical contracts including PBM, wholesale, specialty pharmacy, and GPO. Negotiates rebate agreements and distribution agreements. Works with related teams to support government reporting activities. Confirms alignment to company policies and processes, manages business unit timeliness while maintaining a high level of internal client satisfaction, and leads approval documentation.
The Senior Contracts Manager will be responsible for:
-Understanding of (i) health care compliance, (ii) prescription drug distribution channel(s) and contracting with the various parties in this channel, (iii) how managed care organizations are structured and their role in the prescription drug channel and (iv) the rules and regulations concerning healthcare programs (including Medicare, Medicaid, 340B and the Veterans Administration)
-Manage the lifecycle of contracts from initial strategy planning and drafting, through negotiation, signatures, updates, renewals, and termination
-Day to day management of PBM and distribution contracts
-Analyze, explain, and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways; including clear communication with legal team and business unit partners, using proactive judgement and coordination
-Collaborate on development and management of improved project/contract management processes, and contributing to a successful team environment
The Senior Contracts Manager should have the following qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years' experience of which 5 years are contract management at a biopharmaceutical company drafting, reviewing, and managing commercial contracts, and 3 years are directly managing PBM contracts
-Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Adobe, contract management tools and Outlook
-Organization and prioritization skills to effectively manage timelines and multiple projects
-Must be a team player, self-motivated, able to demonstrate a history of successfully resolving challenging issues
