As a Principal Scientist - Downstream Process Development, specializing in biologics, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of this exciting field. Leveraging your expertise in purification, separation, and filtration techniques, including protein purification, centrifuge, tangential flow filtration (TFF), ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF), and AKTA, you will lead a talented team and drive the development of novel downstream processes for biologic therapies.
Principal Scientist - Downstream Process Development Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and optimization of downstream processes tailored for biologic therapies within the R&D department
- Design and execute experiments to characterize and validate purification methods for exceptional product quality and yield
- Drive process innovation, implementing state-of-the-art technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful translation of processes, including filing NDA/BLA documents
- Provide scientific and technical guidance to the team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and adherence to regulatory requirements
- Contribute to publications, scientific conferences, and industry forums to share advancements in downstream process development for biologics
Principal Scientist - Downstream Process Development Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field with 7+ years of industry experience, OR Master's Degree with 8+ years of experience, OR Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience
- Extensive experience in downstream process development for biologics, with a strong emphasis on purification techniques, including protein purification
- Proficiency in separation technologies such as centrifuge, filtration methods, TFF, UF/DF, and AKTA, tailored for biologics
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in downstream process development for biologic therapies
