The Manager Distribution Technology & Automated Systems (m/f/d) will work closely with internal collaborators from distribution, warehouse and process improvement teams as well as the IT groups and at the same time with our external partners from Swisslog and AutoStoreâ„¢ with the aim to expand real time usage of the system by continuous improvements, regular trainings, developments & takeaways. The position holder will introduce and maintain an SME structure across the organization supporting the best utilization of the system.
A day in the Life:
Working closely with the Scheduler and Distribution Manager to ensure that all distribution orders are processed and dispatched on time
Ensuring optimal performance of AutoStoreâ„¢ to minimize picking errors, to increase the efficiency of the receiving, packaging, and shipping preparation workflows
Working closely with internal partners to gather information about their work experience with the system and agree on further improvements to the system logic, approaches to product classification and the way various SKUs are stored
Liaison with external partners for trouble-shooting, system improvements through implementation of new user requirements or development of mid- and long- term strategies for internal knowledge build-up
Participation in projects as a lead/work with functional teams to streamline processes to improve the customer experience, enable profitable growth and become more efficient
Drive process efficiencies to deliver expected output as per scheduled demand
Development and reporting of data-driven performance indicators to be able to keep track of every single item passing through and thus help to increase the system's efficiency and obtain early signals for potential performance failures
Create and maintain a catalogue of items that will be used for further education of the SME community and as a quick reference tool
Available on demand - fixing system on IT or physical environment stop operation working
Preparation and coordination of cost-relevant measures, which affect the budget of the responsible division, together with the Head of Operations
Keys to Success:
Education
Technical or bachelor's degree in engineering or IT
Experience
Profound IT or technical (engineering) work experience
Advanced IT literacy and experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems/ Knowledge of SAP (warehouse module) is an advantage
Advanced experience in preparing and writing change controls, user requirement specifications (URS)
Experience in dealing and negotiating with 3rd parties, suppliers
GMP/Pharma Industry experience preferred but not a must
