Responsibilities
- Execute a high level of clinical expertise and product acumen for appropriate positioning of current marketed brands
- Influence & shape quality/value proposition of the portfolio - leading the collaboration with marketing and medical to secure product access and pull through to position our client as a leader in the respective disease categories
- Create & maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and P&T members to create mutually beneficial relationships
- Manage the P&T process for targeted IDNs execution
- Develop account profiles and business plans for the current marketed portfolio, execute against the plans, and follow-up
- Responsible for resource optimization for aligned accounts and market business opportunities
- Apply a solid understanding of reimbursement, contracting and finance associated with the portfolio
- Deep understanding in and application of legal/compliance around all aspects of customer engagement
- Partner with National Account Director to drive/negotiate and implement innovative contracts and brand strategies; coordinate pull-through activities
- Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate competitive activity, identify key opportunities, and develop specific market objectives that optimize business performance
- Track, problem solve, and analyze product performance and communicate account performance with key stakeholders
- Strong understanding of reimbursement strategies and issues concerning the acute care market
- Meet or exceed individual and corporate goals assigned by the company and develop new sales opportunities within aligned accounts
- Represent our client's products in a manner consistent with their ethics, policies, and compliance
- Foster teamwork and communication in a high intensity, fast paced environment, where the best interests of patients and our client are prioritized
- Operate independently and with urgency, wearing multiple hats
- Travel Expectations: In-person and overnight travel can include up to 50% to make in-person visits with health systems and HCPs; travel will also include Business Reviews and Conferences
- Ability to develop strong relationships with both internal and external customers
- Knowledge and key relationships at regional IDNs, required
Requirements
- At least 7-10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in a sales/marketing role, including 5 years in managed markets environments
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Extensive relationship management, customer network, and consultative sales experience
- Knowledge and expertise regarding clinical and quality initiatives in hospital marketplace generally and at specific health systems, strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Solution-oriented through the application of advanced problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence support and action from peers and senior leadership
- Ability to identify, develop, communicate, and execute business strategies based on segment opportunities
- Demonstrated deep clinical expertise and product knowledge in broad range of therapeutic areas preferred
