Senior Test Engineer

Contract Details

  • Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension)
  • Location: Onsite, full-time
  • Hours: 39 hours per week

Purpose

The successful candidate will support the transfer of new electronic medical device products to the Clonmel facility. They will provide supervision, guidance, and mentoring to a technical team responsible for validating and implementing test equipment and manufacturing processes into production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform failure analysis on electronic test equipment.
  • Collaborate with in-house and external software developers to define and implement improvements to test applications and systems, enhancing manufacturing test yields.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, drive lean efficiencies, optimise test systems, and reduce production fallout.
  • Conduct tests, prepare reports, and execute validations in compliance with medical device standards for test and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate strong data analysis, technical problem-solving, and project time management skills.
  • Prepare regulatory submissions using established change notice processes and documentation standards.
  • Partner daily with Quality, Manufacturing, R&D, and Design teams to ensure efficient product transfer.
  • Collaborate with Project Management to develop and maintain manufacturing project timelines.

Experience

  • Proven experience in an electrical engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process validations and demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to manage issues to closure.
  • Familiarity with test software applications such as LabVIEW and programming languages like C or C++.
  • Experience in validations within the medical device industry and new product transfers is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Level 8 technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in a related industry.
