For one of our international clients in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, we are currently seeking a Head of Quality Control. The company operates globally with state-of-the-art production facilities and a strong focus on delivering high-quality medicinal products. This role offers an opportunity to lead and shape quality control operations in a highly regulated and modern environment.

The Head of Quality Control will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Quality Control department within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will ensure compliant laboratory operations, oversee analytical testing activities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and develop a high-performing QC organisation. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive GMP knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Quality, Manufacturing, and Technical functions to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance.
Your Responsibilities

* Take overall responsibility for the quality control function, ensuring compliance with applicable GMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements
* Review and approve testing instructions and quality control procedures for raw materials, packaging, intermediates, and finished products
* Ensure the proper sampling, handling, identification, and storage of materials and retention samples
* Oversee the execution of all analytical testing activities, ensuring adherence to established methods and specifications
* Ensure timely communication of critical quality events (e.g., OOS results) to relevant stakeholders
* Lead the validation of analytical methods and ensure appropriate qualification, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
* Drive the continuous improvement of QC processes using performance indicators and operational data
* Ensure laboratories, equipment, and facilities are maintained in a compliant and inspection-ready state
* Take ownership of training and development of quality control personnel, ensuring adequate qualification levels
* Approve or reject materials based on analytical results and specifications
* Collaborate with external partners, including contract laboratories and suppliers, ensuring qualification and performance monitoring
* Support method development, transfers, and validation activities
* Contribute to audits, inspections, self-inspections, and follow-up actions
* Actively participate in change control, deviation management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Be involved in team leadership topics, including resource planning and hiring within the QC function


Your Profile

* Degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Pharmacy or a related field
* Several years of experience in pharmaceutical quality control, including leadership exposure
* Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and laboratory compliance standards
* Confident handling of quality systems, audits, and regulatory inspections
* Excellent organizational skills, decision-making ability, and a structured way of working
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
* Good command of English and German, both written and spoken
* Solid technical understanding of laboratory operations and equipment
